St. Kitts
History
The Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU) was established in August 2011 in response to the decision of the OECS Authority to address key areas related to regional cooperation and the inclusion of the Diaspora of each member state. Through the years, the Unit has played an integral role in coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of regional integration initiatives in the federation. The RIDU serves as a crucial link between Saint Kitts and Nevis, its regional partners, and its citizens living abroad.
RIDU’s creation was informed by Saint Kitts and Nevis Government’s commitment to prepare nationals and residents to embrace the opportunities and challenges that were and are inherent in the integration process, in the face of changing circumstances in the small island states.
