Biography
Dr. Cherése Novelle Godwin is an Oxford University Press, NASW Press, and Social Work Encyclopedia Social Entrepreneur expert and definition definer, a UNESCO World Humanities Public Speaker & University of Pennsylvania Social Work Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee and lecturer, who made history and served as the first National Psychologist of National Security for the Federation of Saint Kitts & Nevis, where she held positions in the Federation as a Social Security Board Director representing the Chamber of Industry & Commerce helping to raise the fund two billion dollars using meaningful data and policies, The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Mediation Board, and as an Executive to the Rotary International Liamuiga Chapter and Business and Professional Women (BPW).
She currently is the Policy & Legislation for the NASW NJ and Delaware Chapters. She was elected Woman of the Year in 2017 in Business and Leadership from the Chamber of Industry & Commerce and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) representing the Federation of Saint Kitts & Nevis.
Dr. Godwin also is the CEO of the Social Impact Agency formally known as Leverage, ltd an international consulting firm, where she serves as an ESG & Social Enterprise organization, program, and policy development consultant. She is a University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice MSSP Lecture, where she leads a course series on Data for Equitable Justice. Dr. Godwin has a deep passion for strengthening institutions and communities, while building society through sustainable and innovative frameworks.
Dr. Godwin’s remarkable expertise is further underscored by her impressive array of certifications, including Social Policies, Social Protection, and Green Jobs from the International Labour Organisation, Social Impact Strategy from the Center for Social Impact Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania, and Social Enterprise from Wharton Online, University of Pennsylvania. She has been in higher education for the past thirteen years serving as a lecturer, Chair, Associate Professor, for various universities that are Ivy Leagues and HBCUs. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Inc.
She holds a BA in Psychology from the illustrious Clark Atlanta University (CAU), an MSW from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in Social Work Policy, Planning, Administration & Social Sciences from the Whitney M. Young Jr. School of Social Work at CAU.
